Ella has partnered with Ocean Films Ltd to record the expedition and produce a film documenting the voyage, the preparations and the findings of the trip. Yeva will be fitted with fixed cameras, go pros and drones, allowing Ella to record her voyage whilst remaining alone on board.
Ella is not affiliated in any manner with Polar Bears International or Ocean Conservancy, or any of their programs, projects or websites. Ella is an admirer of what they are trying to accomplish, and has obtained written permission from both charities to fundraise for them throughout this exciting voyage.
Despite her young age, Ella is already an accomplished sailor - she qualified as an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor at age 25. She has always felt the most at home on, in, or under, the ocean, and is also a PADI Divemaster.
Ella is embarking on a record-setting, never been done before, solo and non-stop Arctic Circumnavigation - a feat that has long been considered impossible.
The mission is to raise awareness of the rapidity at which we are destroying the Arctic, endangering not only the animals and inhabitants of the Northern-most reaches of our globe, but also highlighting the devastating worldwide impact this is having.
Ella has bought a Bruce Roberts 38ft yacht - a steel yacht that is suitably set up for single hand sailing. Equipped with solar panels, hydro generator, wind vane and water maker, making it an almost completely self-sufficient vessel, Yeva has undergone extensive upgrades to equipment and will be tried and tested over 2024 in preparation of the 2025 circumnavigation.
