As the fundraiser grows and emails to potential sponsors are being sent, Ella is looking at various boats that may be right for the trip. She has found one that is suitable, but that boat is on the market, and should she sell prior to Ella having raised the funds needed for purchase, it is important to keep learning about the pros and cons of other yachts out there. There are lots of interesting articles about the considerations needed for a high latitude yacht, and Ella will be sharing her thoughts on the pros and cons between aluminium vs steel, sloop vs ketch, long keel vs fin keel, etc, as we continue to get some momentum to the campaign that will hopefully help Ella land a sponsor and secure a yacht that’s a good fit for this voyage (knowing there’s no such thing as a “perfect” boat).
